FINAL SYMPOSIUM🌿 FASHION.ED PROJECT: ECO-DESIGN AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY by UNIWA-IDEC on 18/9/2025 at UNIWA premises
Fashion.ED project final symposium entitled:
“FASHION.ED PROJECT: ECO-DESIGN AND CIRCULAR ECONOMY” was conducted with great success on 18/9/2025, at the premises of the Ancient Olive Grove Campus of UNIWA, presenting the results of the project.
The event was organized by University of West Attica (Department of Industrial Design and Production Engineering – “Design and Development of Innovative Knitted Textiles and Garments” (DIKNIGA/SAPKE) Laboratory with Prof. Georgios Priniotakis as Scientific Director), in collaboration with IDEC Company. Presentations were done by representatives of the University of West Attica and IDEC company and by organizations from the textile and eco-design sector, as well as by the winner of the “Fashion.ED Eco-Design Challenge” competition (Business ideas in the field of textiles and eco-design), which was held in the frame of FASHION.ED project.
Among the speakers, apart from representatives from UNIWA (Georgios Priniotakis and Ioannis Chronis) and IDEC (Nefeli Dimopoulou, Grigoris Hatziantoniou) were included:
- Nicholas Yatromanolakis, Policy Lab, former Deputy Minister of Culture
- Dr Fiori A Zafeiropoulou,Senior Researcher AUEB, Founder SOFFA & Fashion Revolution Greece
- Dimitrios Chomatidis, “Prasino Tameio” (Green Fund)
During the event, the results of the FASHION.ED project, as well as other European projects with similar activities (TECHTEX, TEX4FUTURE, METODIC, GREENLIFT, SECOVE, INNOVATEX, SYS4TEX, etc.), the activities of companies and organizations which are active in the field of eco-friendly clothing and fashion, and the experience of the winner (student), who participated to the competition. This was followed by a constructive discussion on the topics presented, which resulted in proposals for activities in the field of eco-design in textiles, within the framework of new collaborations. Emphasis was given to the online course (MOOC) and virtual experiments, which will be available on the project website, as part of the sustainability of the Fashion.ED program.
